Gas Measurement module (side stream) for measuring inspiratory and expiratory O₂, CO₂ and anesthetic agents concentrations.
Hot-wire flow sensor for measuring the expiratory flow.
Hot-wire flow sensor for measuring the inspiratory flow.
Pressure sensor for measuring the airway pressures.
Fresh gas decoupling valve insures that the delivered tidal volume is not affected by the fresh gas flow.
The pneumatic PMAX/PEEP valve is active only in mechanical ventilation. It controls the inspiration maximum pressure and PEEP pressure during expiration.
Adjustable Pressure Limitation valve. It is active only in MAN/SPON ventilation mode.
One-way valve exits gas to the anesthetic gas scavenging system.
Manual breathing bag. It is for ventilating the patient manually in MAN/SPON mode and as a reservoir for fresh gas during mechanical ventilation.
CO₂ Absorber (Soda Lime)
Electrically driven electronically controlled piston ventilator
The fresh-gas ejector prevents the fresh gas from flowing back into the anesthetic vaporizer when the O₂ flush button is pressed. This avoids an increase in the anesthetic gas concentration.
Inspiration valve
At 6 bar: max. 75 l/min
At 2. 8 bar: min. 25 l/min
The pneumatic APL-Bypass valve is active only in mechanical ventilation. It bypasses the APL valve.
Expiration valve
Sample line.
Expiration limb
Inspiration limb
Controlled ventilation
In controlled ventilation, the APL valve is bypassed by the APL bypass valve. The PEEP/Pmax valve is active and synchronised with the ventilator frequency. It controls the inspiratory pressure during inspiration and PEEP during expiration. The ventilator piston starts from down to up. The piston movement depends on the ventilation mode, VC or PC. In volume controlled, the piston moves only to the volume set in inspiration. In pressure control, the piston keeps moving upwards till the desired inspiratory pressure set is achieved.
In the controlled ventilation mode, the manual breathing bag works a reservoir for the fresh-gas flow and provides indication, visual movement, for ventilation.
