Pressure-supported Ventilation
Pressure Support (optional)
CPAP / Pressure Support (optional)
- The ventilator is able to recognize and support the patient's breathing efforts.
- The level of pressure support and the trigger sensitivity can be set according to the patient’s needs.
- A required minimum respiratory rate can be set; mandatory breaths will be delivered when breathing efforts cease or become too infrequent.
- During volume- or pressure-controlled ventilation, spontaneous breaths can be allowed or pressure-supported.
- CPAP (device delivers a feedback controlled PEEP) is also possible during MAN/SPON ventilation.
Pressure Support assists:
- Spontaneous breathing.
- Spontaneous breathing with continuous positive pressure level with or without pressure support.
Each detected inspiratory effort at CPAP level induces a patient-triggered, flow-controlled, and pressure-supported breath. Point in time, number, and duration of pressure-supported breaths are determined by the patient. When no inspiratory effort is detected, pressure-supported breaths are delivered with the set minimum respiratory rate RRapn.
